Rare butterfly seen in AP
Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) A rare white butterfly - Fluffy Tit (Zeltus etolus) - was found at the Asian Wildlife Foundation workshop, organsied for community based Eco Tourism, at Gundada Village in East Godavari District recently.
According to Butterfly Conservation Society (BCS) president, Tej Kumar the butterfly was sighted by retired IAS official S Ashok Kumar and P Ram Rudra at the workshop.
Prof Kumar said ''it was for the first time that Fluffy Tit was sighted in Andhra Pradesh, which comes under the family Lycaenidae.'' It is identified very easily with its white colour, long twisted tail and fluffy wings. With this, BCS has found four new species, along with Grey Count, Great Nawab and Striped Blue crow.
