Jammu, May 10 (UNI) A two-member delegation of British High Commission today called on member National Executive Bharatiya Janata Party and former state president Dr Nirmal Singh and discussed the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The British delegation is headed by Sir Richard Stagg, British High Commissioner in India.
Dr Nirmal Singh views informed them about the continued existence of militants training camps in PoK and Pakistan army's border firing to push in the ultras into the state.
''The non-seriousness of Pakistan to counter militancy is indicated by the state of the joint terrorism mechanism set between India and Pakistan having yet to see the light of the day because of Pakistan's non-seriousness,'' Dr Singh told the British delegation.
However, as per press statement issued here, Dr Singh also said that it is serious about controlling militancy only on its western borders as it impinges on its security and survival but not on eastern side, where it is still stoking the embers of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country.
