Bangalore rural district recorded 70 per cent voting in poll
Bangalore, May 10 (UNI) More than 70 per cent of the total 6.55 lakh voters spread across four constituencies, exercised their franchise in the Karnataka assembly election in Bangalore Rural District today.
The polling was peaceful without any untoward incidents throughout the district, amid tight security.
The highest polling was reported in Hoskote constituency with 72 per cent and lowest in Nelamangla with 65 per cent.
Doddaballapur and Devanahalli reported 69 per cent, the official sources said.
The polling was dull with 30 per cent initially and picked up later in the day with recording more than 70 per cent at the end of the day.
Men and women were seen in long queues separately waiting for the voting, daring hot sun in almost all polling stations throughout the day.
In all, 39 candidates, including former Minister C Chennigappa from Doddaballappur were in the fray.
