Another top HM commander arrested, hideout busted in Kashmir
Srinagar, May 10 (UNI) A top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) was arrested and a hideout busted in the Kashmir valley overnight, a police spokesman said today.
He said Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) during a naka checking on Shopian-Aharbal road arrested a self styled District Commander of HM Shabir Ahmad Mir alias Shahid-ul-Islam along with one 7.62 mm pistol, two magazines and seven rounds.
He said SOG and 50 RR unearthed a hideout at Darbal Wuyan and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition including one AK 45 rifle, one magazine, 30 rounds of ammunition and 14 kg explosive materials. However, no one was arrested, he said.
