Abduction, rape case registered

Shajapur, MP, May 10 (UNI) A case has been registered against eight people on the charge of abducting of a 19-year-old girl from Nari Niketan in Ujjain and raping her.

Town Inspector Ajay Verma said the girl, who hails from Shajapur, was abducted on March 17 from Nari Niketan in Ujjain. She was taken to several places and sexually assaulted.

The girl managed to escape from the clutches of her abductors and informed about the incident to her father, who contacted Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Himmat Kothari.

On Mr Kothari's directions, a case was registered against Chausala gram panchayat sarpanch Nizam Patel, Congress leader Munna Pathan and others.
