12 unions directed not to collect ''tax''
Kohima, May 10 (UNI) With a view to arresting the skyrocketing prices of all essential commodities, the Dimapur district administration has banned the unauthorised collections of ''taxes'' by 12 organisations.
Official sources said here today that Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Maongwati Aier had issued the order to all the 12 unions and organisations not to collect taxes from vehicles carrying essential commodities from outside the state at the entry gates of Nagaland, especially at the New Field Check Gate, Dillai Gate and other places on National Highway 39.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the organisations to remove their signboards from the respective areas.
He cautioned that non-compliance of the order would attract severe penalty as per the law, the sources said.
