Mars-Moon 'occultation' on May 10

Mumbai, May 9: A rare phenomenon called 'Occultation' will occur tomorrow evening when the moon will overshadow planet Mars. Nehru Planetarium Director Piyush Pandey said here Mars will disappear on the dark limb of Moon at 1946 hrs and will reappear on the brighter limb, an hour and 16 minutes later at 2102 hrs.

The Planetarium has made arrangements for public viewing of the event from 1900 hrs onwards. ''We are planning to capture the event using a video camera and the image shall be projected on a screen using a video projector,'' said Mr Pandey in a release here today.
