HP sanctions 24.20 crore to tackle drought situation
Shimla, May 9 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Revenue Minister Gulab Singh today said the state government has sanctioned Rs 24.20 crore to solve the problem arising due to drought.
The Revenue Minister held a review meeting with department officers to ensure availability of drinking water and fodder in the state, in wake of drought like conditions.
Presiding over the meeting, the Minister said keeping in view the drinking water problem in current summer season, the state government was taking effective steps to solve the problem.
Mr Singh said the government was providing water through tankers in parched areas and effective steps were also being taken for providing fodder for cattle by importing it from the neighbouring states.
He said the amount would be spent on providing gratuitous relief, providing drinking water through tankers and transportation subsidy on fodder.
