Best-selling writer Chetan Bhagat launches new title
Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) The country's best-selling writer Chetan Bhagat today released his new title ''The Three Mistakes of My Life'', here as part of his seven-city promotional tour.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhagat said, ''The book is again based on real life and has cricket, religion and politics - ingredients that all Indians love. It should have high entertainment value, after all mistakes are funny as long as they don't happen to you.'' The author read passages of his new work with actor Sharman Joshi and held an informal question and answer session with his fans, who thronged the Phoenix Mills venue.
Denying that the title of ''country's most successful writer'' has ever put pressure on him for his latest offering, Bhagat said, ''I wrote my first book for myself, it was rejected by nine publishers, so I'm used to disappointments.'' Fans were further treated a trailer of ''Hello'', a new movie based on his second book ''One Night @ the call center'' directed by Atul Agnihotari with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the cast.
Bhagat, who has sold more than a million copies of his books, will tour Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Pune to promote his book.
''My dream now is to write a book in female first person format.
I think I know women reasonably well,'' Bhagat said.
