Azhagiri calls on Karunanidhi, seeks blessings
Chennai, May 9 (UNI) A day after he was acquitted by a court in the Tha Kiruttinan murder case, Mr M K Azhagiri called on his father and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and sought his blessings today.
The 12 other accused, who were also acquitted, also met Mr Karunanidhi at his Gopalapuram residence and sought his blessings.
Earlier, Mr Azhagiri was given a rousing reception in front of Mr Karunanidhi's residence as party workers burst crackers and beat drums to receive him.
All the family members of Mr Karunanidhi, including her poet-daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi, and State Local Administration Minister M K Stalin were present during the meeting.
Mr Stalin presented a shawl to his elder brother.
Several state Ministers also greeted Mr Azhagiri by presenting him a shawl.
Mr Azhagiri, accompanied by his father, also drove down to Ms Rajathi Ammal's residence and sought her blessings.
A Sessions Court in Chittoor had acquitted Mr Azhagiri in connection with the murder case on the ground that the prosecution had failed to prove the case beyond doubt.
