TN Govt to consult Centre on naming bridge
Chennai, May 8 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government will consult the Centre on naming the new flyover being constructed at Kathipara Junction to ease traffic congestion in the city, after Former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Replying to supplementaries raised by E S S Raman (Cong) during Question Hour in the State Assembly, Highways Minister Vellakoil Swaminathan said the project was being executed by the Centre and the National Highways Authority of India.
A decision on naming the flyover after Pandit Nehru has to be taken by the Centre.
He said he would consult Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and draw the attention of the Centre in this regard.
