Nine killed, 30 injured in two road accident in Bihar
Patna, May 08 (UNI) At least nine people were killed and over 30 injured, most of them seriously, in two road accidents in Bihar during the past 24 hours, police said today.
At least seven passengers were killed and more than 12 injured when a speeding truck rammed into a Darbhanga bound bus on National Highway-31 near Asuragarh in Kishanganj district of north Bihar yesterday.
The accident occurred when the ill-fated bus, coming from Siliguri in north Bengal, was parked on the roadside and some passengers had disembarked.
All the seven died on the spot, while the condition of at least five of the injured, who were rushed to a nearby hospital by the locals, was stated to be critical, the police said.
In another mishap two people were killed and about 20 injured, some of them seriously,when their bus overturned after hitting a tree at Chikni village in Darbhanga district this morning.The accident took place when the driver tried to save a cyclist.
All the seriously injured had since been admitted to the district hospital, the police added.
