Kylie opening night was almost called off

London, May 08 : Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue almost had to call off her show at Bercy Arena in Paris on Tuesday May 06, that too on the opening night of her X2008 tour in France.

The show was almost cancelled because of a throat infection and a string of technical glitches with the high-tech stage, which could pose a problem for the rest of the tour.

On top of that, show producers are concerned that the show is too long and they are also worried that Minogue has included too few hits in the comeback set.

Requests for her to insert breakthrough 1988 hit 'I Should Be So Lucky' into the second half of the gig also came in, but the pop singer does not want to include it.

With so many problems going on, it was very difficult to know whether the opening night would happen or not. But luckily it all went ahead as planned.

"Considering Kylie couldn't sing on Friday and the problems with the stage on Monday night, it's a miracle the show happened at all," The Sun quoted a source in the Kylie camp as saying. "Mercifully all the issues got ironed out in the end and we're all hugely relieved to get that difficult opening night out of the way," the source added.

Doctor Who star David Tennant, Gavin and Stacey actor Mathew Horne and Kylie's ex Olivier Martinez watched the show with Kylie's parents Ron and Carol joining in too.
