HC issues notices to RS Chairman and Sec General

Patna, May 08 (UNI) Patna High Court has issued separate notices to Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari and its Secretary General in connection with the recent termination of membership of Bihar MP Captain Jay Narayan Nishad.

A single bench of the court of Mr Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi issued the two notices yesterday and the matter would come up for hearing on May 14.

Earlier, Mr Nishad had challenged his termination from the upper House by the RS Chairman and through a petition termed it as ''illegal''.

Incidentally, Mr Ansari had terminated the membership of BJP MP Mr Nishad in March under Article 21(A) of the 10th Schedule of Indian Constitution for allegedly violating the Rajya Sabha rules.
