Businessmen brothers gunned down

Nagpur, May 8 (UNI) Unidentified gunmen today shot dead two businessmen brothers at Ambedkar Chowk in Central Avenue area of the city here, police said.

Four to five men entered the third floor residence of timber merchant 'Lakhotiyas' at Gayatri Lok Apartment, armed with country made revolvers, police said.

They had an argument with the Lakhotiya brothers, which soon turned into a scuffle following which the intruders opened fire.

''They fired at least 15 rounds and killed Suresh and Sushil Lakhotiya and injured Shailesh Lakhotiya,'' police said.

A dispute over a monetary transaction could be reason for the attack, police added.

The incident occurred around 1745 hours, sending shock waves in the city. A case has been registered in Lakarganj police station.

Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched and police in neighbouring states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have been alerted, police sources said.
