Bihar celebrates Tagore birth anniversary
Patna, May 8 (UNI) The 147th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated all across Bihar today with due respect.
In one of the main functions at the Rabindra Bhawan here, the Bengali Association in Patna organised a programme, where local artistes recited Tagore poems and sang Rabindrasangeet, enthralling the large audience.
Later, popular Rabindra dance drama 'Shyama' was also performed by them.
Students of several schools and colleges in and around the city also celebrated the day by organising programmes.
Reports of Rabindra Jayanti celebrations also poured in from several other parts of the state, including Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur, where the poet had spent some of his best times in early 1930s.
