Appropriate steps required against HC ruling: Biman

Kolkata, May 8 (UNI) Left Front Chairman and CPI (M) state secretary Biman Bose today said the administration should take an ''appropriate step'' against Calcutta High Court verdict disallowing rally or meetings at Brigade Parade Ground without undertaking from the organisers.

Justices Bhaskar Bhattacharya and R N Banerjee ordered yesterday that no rally or meeting would be allowed within three km of Victoria Memorial without such undertaking.

They also ruled that no vehicles would be allowed to be parked in the area, permission would not be given for opening ovens for cooking purpose and the violators would be barred from holding any rally or meeting at the ground in future.

'' The administration should look into the matter and took an appropriate step in regard to the Court's ruling,'' Mr Bose told newspersons here.

The issue would be discussed later within the party, he said.
