Veggies poisoned to yield profits

Ghaziabad, May 07th 2008 : Farmers in India's northern Ghaziabad are injecting harmful chemicals in their vegetables for a faster growth and increase their profits.

Reportedly, the farmers in some villages of Ghaziabad are injecting a proscribed chemical named oxytocin in vegetables like white gourd to increase their size considerably in a short period. The faster produce in turn yields quick and additional profits.
