Saffron alliance's CM to be decided as per formula: Munde

Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) After being named chief ministerial candidate of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani, senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde today clarified that the next Chief Minister will be decided as per the consensus arrived at between the leaders of the two parties.

''The next Chief Minister will be as per the formula of the Sena and the BJP. Sena chief Bal Thackeray and Mr Advani will decide on the same,'' Mr Munde told reporters here after being asked who will be the next Chief Minister of the state if Sena-BJP alliance comes to power in the state in the Assembly elections scheduled next year.

The question was significant considering Mr Munde's name was announced as chief ministrial candidate by NDA's prime ministrial candidate L K Advani recently at a meeting.

Since 1990, when BJP-Shiv Sena alliance came into being, they adopted a formula whereby the party having maximum number of legislators in the Assembly will announce the Chief Minister.
