No obstacle to implement republic through first CA meet: Speaker

Kathmandu, May 7 : The Speaker of Nepal's interim Parliament Subash Nemwang on Wednesday said there are no complications to implement the republican agenda in the country through the first sitting of the Constituent Assembly (CA).

Mentioning the interim constitution has a provision to implement the federal democratic republic in the country after the first CA meeting, Nemwang claimed that no complications lay ahead in this regard as long as the political parties maintain unity.

Speaker Nemwang said that the venue for the first CA meeting, Birendra International Convention Center (BICC), will be renovated soon, addressing a proramme organised here in the capital today.

No programmes will be held at the BICC from Saturday onwards and the bookings made earlier will be cancelled, he informed.

Nemwang stated that parliamentary secretariat is working on the procedure for the CA meeting.
