Meghalaya Power Minister denies stealing power

Shillong, May 7 (UNI) Meghalaya Power Minister Conrad K Sangma today denied news reports of illegally drawing power to his house in Garo Hills.

'' I am aware of the report. It is not true as my house is yet to have electricity connection and officers of the Meghalaya State Electricity Board (MeSEB) have already conducted an investigation on their own, '' Mr Sangma told the 60-member Assembly today.

Replying to Opposition member Frankenstein W Momin (Cong), Mr Sangma said, '' It is a petty issue and I'm not going to the file any case against the newspaper, as the issue itself has helped me work harder to improve the power situation in the state. '' UNI RRK SJC KLC1727
