M D Mallya, new chairman of Bank of Baroda
Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) Mr M D Mallya today tookover as the Chairman and Managing Director of Bank of Baroda.
He was earlier chairman of Bank of Maharashtra and had led its growth in all spheres, a release issued here said.
His tenure as Executive Director of Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) was marked by several new initiatives, leadership inputs and merger of erstwhile Global Trust Bank (GTB) with OBC.
Mr Mallya started his banking career by joining the Corporation Bank in August 1976, a career spanning over 31 years and acquired rich experience in banking at various positions and assignments.
He has been on various committees of Indian Banks' Association and National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Pune like - Member of the Managing Committee of IBA and Standing Committee on Legal and Banking Operations of IBA, Member of the Governing Board of NIBM, Finance Committee of NIBM and Campus Committee of NIBM, Member of the Governing Council of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, and Member of the Governing Council of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.
