Lieutenant Gen. Nirbhay Sharma appointed as UPSC member

New Delhi, May 7 : President Pratibha Patil has appointed Lieutenant General and former Master General of Ordnance, Indian Army Nirbhay Sharma as Member Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Sharma was administered the oath of office today by the Chairman, UPSC Subir Dutta.

In the course of his distinguished career spanning forty years, he has the distinction serving eight tenures in Jammu and Kashmir and the North-East in various command assignments.

He has held important assignments in Military Operations. Planning, Crisis Management, Material Management and UN Peace Keeping Missions. He has also been a guest speaker at various prestigious institutions.
