Judges Issue: PML-N refuses middle-path solution

Islamabad, May 7 : The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has reportedly refused to budge from its stand on the judges' restoration issue.

The News quoted party sources as saying on Wednesday that a middle path solution to the issue was unacceptable to their leadership.

The revelation came as two sessions of the committee tasked to prepare a framework for the reinstatement of deposed judges is holding two meetings today to discuss the issue.

Constitutional experts are not attending the first session of the committee.

The PML-N has warned that it will take the extreme step of quitting the coalition in case the talks fail.

However, Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek told newsmen that he was optimistic about Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim rejoining the committee.
