JD(U) leader lynched in Sheikhpura

Sheikhpura, May 07 (UNI) JD (U) leader Ranjit Paswan was lynched by unidentified criminals at Patelchowk under town police station in the district today.

Superintendent of Police Indranand Mishra said here that there was altercation between Mr Paswan and the criminals over a petty issue during refreshment at a local hotel.

When the matter turned serious, Mr Paswan tried to escape from the spot but the criminals chased him and beat up mercilessly, leading to his death on the spot.

Mr Paswan was the resident of Barsa village under Ariari police station in the district and was also a former member of the block committee, he added.

Raids were being carried to nab the criminals at possible hideouts in the district, police added.
