Baldota Group sets up integrated steel plant

Bangalore, May 7 (UNI) The Baldota Group, county's largest wind energy producers, launched today Aaress Iron and Steel Limited (AISL), the Integrated Steel Plant of one million tonne capacity and Pellet Plant of 1.2 million tonne capacity in Koppal District.

AISL would be initially set up as an Integrated Steel Plant of one million ton capacity to produce Alloy and Special Steel at an investment of Rs 4469 crore, a press release said.

The Plant was scheduled to commence production by 2009 end. The Plant capacity would be further expanded to five MTPA shortly. The company was also setting up a captive power plant of 70 MW capacity and it would be enhanced to 340 MW with the steel plant capacity increase.

The Pellet Plant of 1.2 million ton capacity to produce Iron ore Pellets was being set up by the group's flagship company MSPL with an Investment of Rs 200 Crore. MSPL Limited is one of the largest private sector iron-ore mining and exports establishment in the State.

The company haD already contracted with SINOSTEEL MECC, China, for supply of technology and core equipment, release added.
