Bahujan Kranti Party merges with SAD (Badal)
Jalandhar, May 7 (UNI) Recently formed Bahujan Kranti Party today merged itself with the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) at a funcion here.
Bahujan Kranti Party president Pawan Kumar Tinnu alongwith other party workers joined the Akalis in presence of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal.
After taking Tinnu in the party fold, Mr Badal said he and his party men would be given due respect in the Akali Dal. Mr Tinnu had snapped ties with Bahujan Samaj Party on November 30, 2006 and formed his own party.
On the ocassion, Mr Badal announced that in the next three years, an amount of Rs 1200 crore would be spent for the development of Jalandhar city.
Out of this amount, 90 per cent would be utilised in providing basic amenities, sewerage system and solving potable water problem in the dalit dominated areas of the city.
When asked by mediapersons, whether the newly inducted dalit leader would be alloted a Parliament ticket, Mr Badal ducked the query by saying that it would be decided by the party.
