7 killed in accident in Maharashtra

Nandurbar, May 7: About seven people were killed on the spot and an equal number injured when the autorickshaw, in which they were travelling, collided with a car and turned turtle at Navapur square here.

The incident occurred yesterday when the autorickshaw's rear tyre burst. Following this, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it collided with an oncoming car, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Sukhram Bajirao Gavit (60), Shantabai Gawli (75), Rudiya Bhoye (47), Bhamtibai Gawli, Kesarbai Maharu Chaure (45), Limju Thakre (65) and Seemabai Limju Thakre.

The injured were rushed to Nandurbar City Hospital immediately after the incident, police said.
