17 new Bihar Legislative Council members take oath

Patna, May 07 (UNI) All the 17 newly-elected members of the Bihar Legislative Council were administered oath today.

Acting Chairman of the Council Arun Kumar administered the oath to the members at a simple ceremony here.

Prominent among those who took oath were state Cooperative Minister Giriraj Singh, Kameshwar Choupal (BJP), Mohammad Tanvir Hassan, Badsah Prasad Azad (RJD), Haroon Rashid, Mr Ramdhani Singh, Satish Kumar, Heera Prasad Bind and Dr Jyoti of the Congress.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar Assembly Speaker Udai Narain Choudhury, state Parliamentary Affairs minister Ramashrya Prasad Singh among others were present.

Elections to the 17 Council seats were held in two phases in March and April this year.
