Three persons arrested for accepting bribe
Bangalore, May 6 (UNI) Lokayukta sleuths arrested three persons, including a Gazetted assistant, on bribery charges for showing official favour.
A Lokayukta press release said that a Gazetted assistant Narasiyappa of Block Education Office of Jagalur and his peon Panduranga were arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 as first installment from S. Kuberappa, a retired Head Master to countersign his Earned Leave encashment bill. The accused had demanded Rs 7,000 as the bribe money and directed Narasiyappa to give the amount to his peon.
In another trap, a village accountant Veeranna of Bidar Taluk was nabbed while taking bribe money of 3,700 from Shanmukhappa for making entries in the RTC. Earlier he had demand Rs 6000 but after bargaining he decided to accept Rs 5000, the release said.
