Rain brings respite from heatwave in Rajasthan
Jaipur, May 6 (UNI) Duststorm and/or hailstorm accompanied by rains at different places in Rajasthan during the past 24 hours has provided a temporary respite from the heatwave sweeping the state for the past several days.
According to reports reached at the state headquarters here, light to moderate rains and/or hailstorm, since last evening, brought down the mercury at several places including Alwar, Sikar, Dausa, Karauli, Pokaran and Bharatpur.
A Meteorology Department spokesman said that maximum temperature at most of the places showed a downward trend with Bikaner and Jaisalmer reporting the highest day temperature of 41.9 degree Celsius this afternoon.
Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees followed by Kota 41.7 degrees and Jodhpur 39.8 degrees, the spokesman added.
