Punjab enhances Medical internship allowance

Chandigarh, May 6 (UNI) The Punjab Government today issued a notification enhancing the internship stipend of interns of Government Medical Colleges and Government Dental Colleges in Amritsar and Patiala and Government Ayurvedic College, Patiala to Rs 4500 per month with immediate effect.

Disclosing this here today Tikshan Sud, Medical Education Minister said that enhancement in internship stipend in the case of Ayurvedic interns would be from Rs. 2000-4500 and in the case of others enhancement would be from Rs 2400-4500.

He said that the revision, made on Haryana pattern, in internship allowance would put an extra load of Rs 1.32 crore per annum on the exchequer of State government.
