Prohibitory orders around Rohini Court Complex

New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) The Delhi police today clamped Section 144 (prohibitory orders) around the Rohini Court Complex for a period of two months.

Issuing the orders, Delhi police commissioner Yudhvir Singh Dadwal said here the decision was taken following reports that holding of demonstration processions around the Rohini Court Complex could hinder the functioning of the courts. ''The area is frequented by a large number of accused and petitioners and holding of demonstrations and processions could disrupt smooth functioning of courts,'' he added.

The prohibitory orders would come into force from May 9 and will continue till July 7.

Religious functions, rallies and public meetings can still be held within the prohibited area with permission of DCP (North-West).

According to the police, areas coming under the prohibitory orders would include Deepali Chowk, Madhuban Chowk and Prashant Vihar traffic intersection.
