Madras HC CJ Named Delhi HC CJ
New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) Madras High Court Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah has been transferred as Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, the Law and Justice Ministry announced this evening.
Justice Shah's transfer was given effect by President Pratibha Patil after consultation with Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan, the announcement said.
Justice Shah has been directed to assume charge of the office within a fortnight-- by May 21, it said.
The Delhi HC is currently presided over by acting Chief Justice T S Thakur.
