Liquor sale banned from May 7 IN K'taka
Bangalore, May 6 (UNI) The sale and transport of liquor has been banned for four days from tomorrow midnight until in 11 districts of Karnataka, which goes to the first phase of polls on May 10.
The Deputy Commissioners of the 11 districts in the Southern parts of the State today issued notifications warning that violators would be severely punished. If any bar or wine shop was found selling liquor, the license would be cancelled immediately.
A strict instruction has also been given to all State government staff and officials for attending the election duty without fail, else the employee would face action including arrest.
The State government has declared holiday for schools and colleges in the districts on the polling days - May 10, 16 and 22.
