EPIC to function in all TN assembly constituencies: Gupta

Coimbatore, May 6(UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Election Officer (CEO) Naresh Gupta today said permanent Election Photo Identification Centre (EPIC) would be in operation at all the assembly constituencies in the State by the middle of this month.

Talking to newspersons here, he said officials would provide training to their subordinates to facilitate the process.

Mr Gupta said networking of all the EPIC Centres with Electronic Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT) was in progress. All centres would concentrate on constituencies, he added.

Mr Gupta said electorates need not change their cards after the delimitation of constituencies. The officials will, however, ensure that everything was in order in all constituencies, he added.

The CEO said final electoral rolls would be ready by August and draft rolls would be issued in July.

The total electoral roll had touched around four crore in the State, he added.
