Detonators recovered after encounter with Maoist ultras

Nawada, May 6 (UNI) The Bihar police recovered a huge quantity of detonators after an encounter with Maoist ultras near the Polmahadeo dam under Govindpur police station here.

Official sources said here today that acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in the dam area last night and cordoned the entire area.

The extremists had assembled near the dam to execute some major crime, the sources said.

Later, the extremists opened fire on the police team and also hurled bombs, resulting into an encounter.

However, the ultras managed to escape into the nearby forests.

Police later recovered 200 detonators and other incriminating documents from the spot.

The borders of the district had been sealed and massive manhunt had been launched to nab the extremists, the sources added.
