Ashes of renowned Gandhian immersed in Sitar spring in Kashmir
Srinagar, May 6 (UNI) The mortal remains of renowned Gandhian Nirmala Deshpande was immersed in Sitar spring at Sita Heran in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, official sources said today.
The mortal remains of Deshpande was carried by S P Verma and immersed in the Sita Spring from top of Khaj mountain of world famous Tossa Maidan.
Nearly 24 years ago the mortal remains of Indira Gandhi were similarly immersed in the holy waters of Sita Spring.
Deshpande, Member Parliament and a renowned Gandhian passed away on May first.
