2 minors drown in Hooghly river

Howrah, May 6 (UNI) Two children, aged 10-12 years, today drowned in the Hooghly river near the Shibpur Launch Ghat.

Police said the boys were bathing in the river when a strong current carried them away.

The identities of the boys could not yet be ascertained, police said, adding that divers had been pressed into service to retrieve the bodies.
