Zardari to get same protocol as accorded to Pak President, PM

Islamabad, May 5 : Pakistan government has decided to extend official protocol and security cover for PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari at par with the country's President and Prime Minister.

The decision was taken by the Prime Minister's Secretariat and advisor to the prime minister on Interior Rehman Malik issued these orders to the Interior Ministry, reported the Daily Times.

Zardari currently has three personal bulletproof Land Cruiser jeeps, equipped with jammers, in addition to police security and personal guards.

The Interior Ministry has asked federal ministers and other top politicians to remove wireless sets from their vehicles, fearing that these sets might disclose security planning.
