Kashmir gears up for tourist influx

Srinagar, May 5, 2008: Houseboat owners in Kashmir gear up for the influx of tourists to the picturesque valley. The shikaras or gondolas and houseboats have been the main attraction of the main city of Srinagar, a beauteous town set amidst snow-capped mountains, pine forest and verdant meadows.

The owners who have been busy mending and beautifying the houseboats after the winter season are ready to welcome tourists to their houseboats that have been carpeted and embellished like any 5 star hotels.
