Rains cuts off Anjaw dist, BJP demands immediate relief
Itanagar, May 5 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh BJP today urged the state government to arrange for immediate air-dropping of essential commodities in Anjaw district, where people were facing starvation like situation following disruption of surface communication due to rain.
The district is cut off from the rest of the country due to torrential rain for the past few days.
The party, in a statement, informed that roads have been blocked due to massive landslides in Hawai, Hayuliang, Goilyang, Chaglagam, Wallong and Kibitho areas.
The BJP also said some people were selling rice at whopping prices, which were beyond the reach of common man and asked the government to take steps in this regard.
