Prez Patil condoles loss of lives in Myanmar cyclone

New Delhi, May 5 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today expressed deep sorrOw over the tragic loss of lives and widespread damage to property caused due to the tropical cyclone that hit Myanmar last week.

In a message to Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council, Ms Patil said India was sending some immediate relief suplies to provide succour for the affected people.

''India stands ready to assist Myanmar to cope with this tragedy,'' she said.
