'Poland-India trade should touch three billion Dollars'

Kochi, May 5 (UNI) Trade between Poland and India could be increased from 600 million Dollars to three billion Dollars in due course, said Mr W Madziar, Second Secretary at Poland Embassy in India.

Mr Madziar, who visited the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry office here recently, said Poland needs rubber, seafood and tea and efforts should be made to import these items from India.

Stating that the potential for trade between the two countries was great, he said presently, Poland imported rubber and tea from Sri Lanka and the country was very strong in maritime and food processing industry as well as in the manufacture of sophisticated machinery and equipment for power plants, railways and road transport.

As far as Kerala was concerned, there was ample scope for mutual cooperation in specific areas like power generation, distribution and transmission, food processing and fishing, he said.
