Opposition case to Privilege Committee: NDA MPs to keep mum in LS

New Delhi, May 5 (UNI) The opposition National Democratic Alliance today decided to protest against Speaker Somnath Chatterjee's reference to the Privilege Committee about the conduct of 32 MPs by remaining 'mum' in the Lok Sabha.

The decision was taken at an NDA meeting presided over by Leader of the Opposition L K Advani here this morning.

Later talking to newspersons, BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the Opposition did not want to precipitate the matter by creating noise in the House on the issue, hence it had been decided to keep "our mouth shut" to protest against the Speaker having referred cases of 32 MPs to the Privilege Committee.

''We will keep a finger in front of our mouth''as protest against the reference, he said.
