Militant killed hideout busted in Kashmir

Srinagar May 5 (UNI) A militant was killed and a hideout busted in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said today.

They said troops of 8 JAKLI noticed some movement near Pathri post in the frontier district of Kupwara last night. When challenged and asked to surrender, militants opened fire ensuing a fierce clash in which a militant was killed.

They said one ak rifle, twelve maps, one grenade and one water bottle were recovered from the slain militant.

Police also conducted a search operation at Tantray Pora neAr Palhalan Pattan during which one AK rifle, two AK magazines, 30 rounds of ammunition and six IED circuits were recovered. However, no one was arrested.
