Man stabs son with kitchen knife in Mumbai

Mumbai, May 5: In a fit of drunken rage, a man severely injured his son by stabbing the latter with a knife when the boy refused to pay heed to his request.

The incident occurred at the Sharda Chawl in Jogeshwari yesterday, police said.

Mohan Bahadursingh Rawat had asked his 14-year-old son Ashish to run an errand for him. But the boy did not heed the request and ran off to play.

When the boy returned home, the man picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the son in the abdomen. The boy has been admitted to the Cooper Hospital here.

The man has been arrested on attempt to murder charges, the police said, adding he was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the crime.
