Govt to set up university at Kadappa
Hyderabad, May 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Technical and Higher Education Minister R Chenga Reddy today said that the government has proposed to set up a university with international standards at Kadapa, the home district of the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Speaking to newspersons, after the review meeting on the progress of the higher education, presided over by the Chief Minister here, Mr Reddy said the government had allocated 700 acres of land to establish the university to provide education at international standards.
Stating that the Chief Minister had directed the concerned officials to release Rs 19 crore to acquire land for the establishment of IIT at Medak, he said, the classes would be organised at ordinance factory during this year as the construction of IIT campus would be delayed.
Dr Reddy said the government would speed up the land acquirement for the establishment of Nannaya University in East Godavari district.
