Freedom fighter Nain Singh dead

Mandsaur, MP, May 5: Veteran freedom fighter and Azad Hind Fauz volunteer Thakur Nain Singh died at his residence here last night after a brief illness. He was 89.

After the freedom struggle, Singh had joined government service and retired as District Commandant, Home Guards. He had contributed to the freedom struggle by becoming a volunteer in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army.

Singh had been ailing for the past three months and died at 2000 hrs last night. His funeral is scheduled for today.
