Biranchi Das' murderer held in Panjai

Panaji, May 5 (UNI) The Goa police today claimed to have arrested Sandeep Acharya alias Raja, gangster and prime accused in the murder of Biranchi Das, coach of the world's youngest marathon runner Budhia.

Biranchi Das was murdered in Bhubaneswar on April 13.

Acharya was arrested this afternoon at around 1445 hrs, Police Inspector Francisco Corte said.

The police have informed their Orissa counterparts, whose team was likely to arrive today or tomorrow.

Acharya has not been interrogated so far. But after interrogation, further action will be taken, Mr. corte added.
